Lemon Water Detox

While it may sound simple, don't let that make you overlook this lemon water. It takes only moments to prepare and is extremely beneficial for everyone!

Lemons improve hydrochloric acid production as well as bile production, this helps flush out toxins and cleanse the liver. Lemons are high in Vitamin C, this antioxidant can help boost your immune system, which makes it a great drink all year round!

Prep time: 1 minute
Serves: 1

Ingredients:

1 lemon (choose organic if you have the option)

1/4 cup cold filtered water

1/3 cup hot filtered water

Note: to make warm water, I usually mix boiling water from the kettle and filtered water from my water filter. You can also turn off the kettle before the water reaches boiling point. When I don't want warm water I just use room temperature filtered water.

Instructions:

  1. Carefully slice the lemon in half, using one half of the lemon at a time squeeze it into a glass or mug with your hand or if you have a lemon squeezer you can use that. Discard seeds if necessary.

  2. Add water, stir and drink while warm

Note: To maximise the lemon water's full benefits, consume it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach and wait 10-15 minutes before consuming any food or other drinks.
